WW2 ROME TOURS – THE BATTLE FOR THE ETERNAL CITY.

At first sight the center of Rome appears to have few reminders of the events that took place here around the time of the Second World War, when the city was the capital of Fascist Italy for twenty years, then a Nazi occupied city for nine months and finally in June 1944 a city liberated by the Allied forces. Our two and a half-hour walking tour of central Rome explains the historical events that took place in many familiar locations of the city and shows how often memorials to the era are to be found hidden in plain sight. The World War Two Italian campaign is sometimes described as the forgotten campaign, overshadowed by the D-day landings in Normandy. We believe it is a fascinating chapter of the Second World War and a fascinating chapter in the history of the eternal city.

Incredible tour!  If you’re wondering if you should do this… YES! Best tour and guide we had in Rome over our 6 days stay.
